In 2013, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office commissioned research that showed, although medical treatment can cost thousands abroad, fewer than half (45%) of young Brits surveyed checked that their insurance covered risky pursuits. Furthermore, 4 out of 5 (82%) admitted to taking part in more adventurous behaviour when on holiday.
